Dario Buccino (1968) is a composer, performer, teacher and designer of musical instruments.
In the early nineties he developed the HN System®, a system of composition, notation, performance and improvisation techniques, based on the parameterization of bodily and mental performative processes.
In 1994 he was invited as a lecturer at the Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt to present the HN System.
His works combine composition, performance art, sound sculpture and have been presented in international festivals and institutions such as the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Milano Musica Festival, the Teatro Stabile di Torino, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Festival Fabbrica Europa in Florence, the Beijing Comedy Theater in Beijing, the Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai.
He has held seminars and workshops on the HN System at the Milan Conservatory, the Trapani Conservatory, the Roma Tre University, the University of Palermo, the IULM University of Milan, the SUPSI Professional University of Lugano, the Milan Polytechnic.
He founded and directs the HN Ensemble, specialized in the performance of compositions written with the HN System.
He created the HN Percussion®, a family of musical instruments that involve the entire body of the performer in sound creation.
His work is the subject of academic papers, graduate theses and documentary films.
